Courted Ltd. (“Courted,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described herein.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, and profile photos
- Profile Data: Biography, interests, preferences, location, occupation, and other profile information you choose to provide
- Identity Verification: Government-issued ID and selfie (processed by our partner Persona) for age and identity verification
- Payment Information: Payment method details (processed by Stripe and MoonPay — we do not store full card numbers)
- Communications: Messages sent through the Platform, support enquiries, feedback, and dispute submissions
1.2 Financial Information
- Transaction history (deposits, tips, commissions, withdrawals)
- Wallet addresses associated with your account (public addresses only — we never store private keys)
- Queen Bee Network commission and payout records
- Token balance and purchase history
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (device type, model, operating system, unique device identifiers)
- Usage data (features used, interactions, time spent, swipe patterns, match activity)
- Location data (with your permission, for matching purposes and to suggest nearby users)
- Log data (IP address, browser type, access times, referring URLs)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
- Push notification tokens (for delivering notifications to your device)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Create, manage, and authenticate your account
- Match you with other users based on preferences, location, and compatibility signals
- Facilitate date deposits, escrow management, payouts, and commission calculations
- Verify your identity and age through third-party verification services
- Prevent fraud, detect abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
- Calculate and distribute Queen Bee Network commissions and rank bonuses
- Send push notifications about matches, messages, deposits, payouts, and account activity
- Conduct analytics and research to improve our services, matching algorithms, and user experience
- Send marketing communications (with your consent, and you can opt out at any time)
- Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
- Comply with legal obligations and regulatory requirements
3. Blockchain Data
If you interact with the $COURTED token or connect a cryptocurrency wallet, please be aware of the following:
- Blockchain transactions are publicly visible. Transaction hashes, wallet addresses, transaction amounts, and timestamps are recorded on the Ethereum blockchain and can be viewed by anyone.
- Your wallet address may be visible to other users or third parties through blockchain explorers (e.g., Etherscan).
- Courted cannot delete, modify, or remove blockchain data. Data recorded on the blockchain is permanent and immutable by its nature. This is inherent to blockchain technology and is not within our control.
- We do not store your private keys. You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your information with the following categories of recipients:
4.1 Other Users
Your profile information (name, photos, bio, interests, age) is visible to other users of the Platform as part of the matching and dating experience.
4.2 Third-Party Service Providers
- MoonPay: Fiat-to-crypto payment processing for purchasing $COURTED tokens
- Stripe / Stripe Connect: Fiat payment processing and withdrawal services
- Persona: Identity verification and age confirmation
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure, hosting, and data storage
- Analytics Providers: To understand Platform usage patterns and improve our services (data is anonymised or aggregated where possible)
- Twilio: SMS verification and communication services
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to valid legal process (such as a court order or subpoena), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Courted, our users, or the public.
5. Queen Bee Network Data
If you participate in the Queen Bee Network, the following additional data practices apply:
- Referral connections and network relationships (upline and downline) are stored and maintained by the Platform.
- Your upline (the person who referred you) and your downline (people you have referred) can see that you are part of their network.
- Commission amounts and rank status may be visible to other participants within your network hierarchy.
- Aggregated network performance data (e.g., total network activity) may be displayed on leaderboards or used for rank qualification purposes.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and you continue to use the Platform.
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., for tax, legal, regulatory, or fraud prevention purposes).
- Transaction records: Financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and regulatory obligations.
- Blockchain data: Permanent and immutable. Transaction data recorded on the Ethereum blockchain cannot be deleted by Courted or any other party, even after account deletion.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection laws (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR):
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements and blockchain data limitations)
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes, including direct marketing
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
Opt-out of marketing: You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, or by adjusting your notification preferences in the app settings. You can disable push notifications through your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@courted.tv. We will respond to your request within 30 days. Please note that blockchain data (wallet addresses, transaction hashes) cannot be deleted due to the immutable nature of blockchain technology.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256)
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) available for all user accounts
- No storage of private keys — we never have access to your cryptocurrency wallet private keys
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- Access controls, authentication, and role-based permissions for internal systems
- Smart contract audits by third-party security firms
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach as required by applicable law.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States (where our cloud infrastructure is hosted). We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the relevant authorities.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is strictly intended for individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete that information. 11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email to the address associated with your account and/or through an in-app notification. We will also update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
